This is a picture of my nasty, hippie sandals that I have had since I was seventeen. (Not an exaggeration at all) I have had them resoled at least three times. They are so comfortable and I cannot find a new pair like them anywhere. As you can see they are two different colors from too many trips out in the rain. They are also splattered with primer from when we moved into our first home.
I can remember wearing these sandals while tromping around campus my first week of college. My little patchwork shirt and unshaven legs. These shoes are in desperate need of being thrown out but I simply can’t bare to do it. I’m still a little crunchy, what with the homemade organic baby food and cloth diapers, but I do shave my legs now.
I am not known for my style or rather my lack of style. I can’t let my hair get too long or it simply ends up wadded up on the back of my head. I am most comfortable in jeans, a v-neck shirt and sandals or tennis shoes. I change in to PJs and loose the bra the second I get home. This is not a new thing since becoming a mom, I’ve just always been that way. This is not to say that I don’t like to look nice but I always feel I look my best when I am also comfortable.
My husband bought me a pair of Chacos for our third anniversary in an attempt to get me to throw out the 12 year old nappy sandals. Alas, it didn’t work. I do wear the Chacos almost everyday though. At least they are from this decade.

They do look comfy… I’d probably try some shoe polish before throwing ‘em to the garbage bin.
